Also, in AutoCAD, they may be Symbols, but in Revit the are real Outlets and Light fixtures. Your example of dragging symbols from the Legend to the Plan can probably be done faster by dragging Families from the Project Browser to the plan. You may have developed a workflow that makes you super-efficient when you're drafting Lines in AutoCAD, but those same workflows may not work well when you are modeling objects in Revit. Reading between the lines, however, I suspect what you're really asking is: "How can I use Revit exactly like I use AutoCAD?" ![]() Don't do it! You may save a few minutes the one time you create the Legend, but you'll regret it for years after. ![]() You'll be tempted to Import rather than Link and Explode the DWG after. As a guide, you can Link in the DWG and draw over it. ![]() Do you want to know how to replicate your Electrical Legend in Revit? If so, like Dan says, in the long run, you'll be much better off to draw it using native Revit objects.
